Terms of Service

Last updated 29 August 2026

These terms govern your use of the FieldBas platform. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you use FieldBas on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organization.

1. The service

FieldBas is a marketplace and software platform that lets Clients dispatch location-based verification work and receive results with evidence, and lets Field Partners accept and complete that work for payment. FieldBas is not a party to the work itself and does not itself perform verification.

FieldBas is not a bank, deposit-taker or payment service provider. Payouts are processed through a licensed payment partner.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep it current. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials and API keys secret. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

We may suspend or close an account for breach of these terms, suspected fraud, legal requirement, or risk to the platform or its users.

3. Field Partners

You must be at least 18 and legally entitled to work. You must complete identity verification (BVN or NIN) before accepting jobs.

Accepting a job is a commitment to attempt it in good faith, follow the job instructions and checklist, capture the required evidence honestly, and check in only when you are physically at the location. The server determines whether you were within the geofence; you must not attempt to spoof location or evidence.

You act as an independent contractor, not an employee or agent of FieldBas or the Client. You decide which jobs to accept and how to organise your time. Nothing in these terms creates an employment, partnership or agency relationship.

Payment for an approved job is the amount shown on the job at the time you accepted it, less the platform fee disclosed to you. Payouts are made to your verified account after the Client approves the work. Fabricated, plagiarised or materially incomplete submissions are not payable and may lead to suspension.

4. Clients

You are responsible for the lawfulness of the work you request and for having a lawful basis to seek verification of any address, person or premises. You must not use FieldBas to harass, surveil or endanger anyone, or to request work that is unsafe or unlawful.

You set the payout for each job (subject to any category minimum). Publishing a job is an instruction to make it available to Field Partners and, where escrow is enabled, commits the funds for it.

You are responsible for reviewing submissions promptly. Approving a job authorises the payout. Rejecting a job requires a reason. Repeated bad-faith rejections may lead to suspension.

The verification report and evidence are provided for your internal compliance and decision-making. You are responsible for how you use them.

5. Fees

FieldBas charges a platform fee, expressed as a percentage of each job payout (a "commission"), and may charge for optional products such as instant verification lookups. Current rates are set out in your agreement with FieldBas or notified to you, and may be changed on notice.

Fees are exclusive of any applicable taxes, which are added where required.

6. Verification reuse

Where a job matches a recent, verified check for the same kind of work at the same place, FieldBas may auto-confirm it from that prior result instead of dispatching a Field Partner. The result is delivered with the original evidence and is marked as auto-verified. You control the matching rules for your organization. Auto-confirmed jobs are billed at the applicable lower rate and do not generate a Field Partner payout.

7. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the platform: no reverse engineering except as permitted by law, no automated access outside the documented API, no attempts to break security or access other users' data, no uploading of malware or unlawful content, and no use that infringes others' rights.

8. Intellectual property

FieldBas owns the platform and its software. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for its intended purpose.

Evidence and work product submitted for a job are licensed to the Client for their compliance and business purposes, and to FieldBas to operate the service, produce reports, prevent fraud, and — in de-identified or aggregated form — improve the platform.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is". FieldBas does not warrant that verification results are error-free or that a Field Partner or Client will act correctly. FieldBas provides tools to make results trustworthy and auditable; it does not guarantee outcomes.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FieldBas is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or loss of profit, revenue or data. FieldBas's total liability arising out of the service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the fees you paid to FieldBas in that period or ₦100,000. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Indemnity

You will indemnify FieldBas against claims and costs arising from your breach of these terms, your work product, or your unlawful use of the platform.

12. Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for the reasons in section 2. On termination, outstanding approved payouts to Field Partners remain payable, and record-keeping obligations survive.

13. Changes

We may change these terms on notice in the app or by email. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the service.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The courts of Lagos State have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any right to bring proceedings before a consumer forum where the law requires.
